WMTCQ is staffed by trainers with many years seagoing and teaching experience.

From 3rd September 2007 John Pritchett was employed as Training Director, China, succeeding Capt Fraser Betts in WMTC Qingdao.

John spent 14 years in the Royal Navy from 1980 onwards. He then moved to the cruise industry as a security and safety officer for Premier cruises lines working in the US and from there he moved to P&O Cruises in a similar role.

From 1996 John worked with AVSeawork as part of the ‘new build’ sea trials group for Vosper Thornycroft in Southampton UK. In mid 1997 John moved to Hanseatic Shipping Company in Cyprus as an instructor at their dedicated maritime training school, training cadets and junior & senior officers.

From 2006 John transferred to the main Hanseatic Shipping Co. office as a Quality and Safety Officer carrying out ship inspections and audits and from January 2007 he assumed the responsibilities of the Company Security Officer.
